TRUE LIES BY THE SCHOOL HEAD

LIES ! LIES ! TRUE LIES ! BY THE SCHOOL HEAD

All of you would remember that nearly 25 students of class XI Standard State Board failed but you may not be aware of the explanation by the School Head in the Governing Board Meeting which was held in June'08

" .... Mr. C Mani wanted know the details of class XI students. Mr. Varadrajan responded that class XI students take to their work little lightly and this is the case with almost all the schools. twenty five of them were failed just to jolt them to reality of hard work necessary subsequently. However, they were examined again setting new question papers and were promoted. Mr. Varadarajan further explained internal evaluation of the school used to be stricter than board evaluation. This is just to ensure our students get prepared such surprises arised in the board examination....."

NB:-
The School HEAD has misled the Governing Board as though the evaluation of the Class XI was done by their teachers, on the contrary it was externally evaluated. He has further stated that in order to give a jolt to the students to wake up to the reality. Dear Parents we leave it to your judgement how he has uttered such a True Lie before the Board - RPF

SEX STARVED FORMER PHYSICS TEACHER ON DAIS

The 45th Annual Day Sports day show cased the damned and sex starved former Physics Teacher who had to resign on the grounds of complaints of moral turpitude. PV again proved that he has the nerve to provoke the parent community by extending an invitation with a seat in the dais to symbolically throw an open challenge to the BHEL and Parents. What is the unholy alliance between PV and the Physics Teacher is a billion dollar question?.
Probably GIF may have an answer!. This is nothing but an open and naked defiance by the School Head with little or no respect to moral values.

ANALYSIS OF THE SURVEY

DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THE SURVEY CONDUCTED BY THE RSK-PTA

Under its auspices the RSK PTA conducted a detailed survey from the Parents with a view to ascertain their views regarding the GIEF’S Management of the RSK SCHOOL for the past 2 years. Nearly 50 well meaning parents volunteered to take up the task of surveying BHEL and NON BHEL Parents. The Survey was able to obtain response from 824 Parents of the RSK School out of 1000 forms issued. Out of the responded 824,

119 respondent-parents expressed their Satisfaction i.e. 14.44 %
147 respondent-parents remained neutral i.e. 17.84 %
006 respondent-parents expressed their Don’t Know i.e. 0.73 %
552 respondent-parents have expressed Dissatisfaction i.e. 66.99 %

The Survey focused on many issues. Of which, three areas were considered more relevant and vital for evaluating the performance of the New Management, New Head of the Institution and the Parents’ perception about the School under the GIF Management.

The main areas which require immediate attention are:

1. Whether GIEF’S is doing an excellent Job in Academics?

Response:
The detailed analysis shows that only 164 parents are Satisfied, 232 Parents remain neutral, 11 parents claimed that they Don’t Know and 417 parents strongly feel dissatisfied.

2. Whether Parent’s feel welcome at school, their views are taken into account, their perception about standard of the school?

Response:
The detailed analysis shows that only 129 parents are Satisfied, 263 Parents remain neutral, 31 parents claimed that they Don’t Know and 401 parents strongly feel dissatisfied.

3. Whether the Leadership & Direction provided by the administrators of the School and the principal is effective in leading the school in the right direction

Response:

The detailed analysis shows that only 114 parents are Satisfied, 165 parents remain neutral, 34 parents claimed that they Don’t Know, and 511 parents strongly feel dissatisfied.

RPF learns that on behalf of the Parents of RSK School, the RSK-PTA has submitted the consolidated report of the survey conducted by it to take some suitable remedial measures at the earliest.

Dear Parents,
The mid-term exams are due to begin on 28.07.2008 as per the Hand Book. But it is learnt that due to the non-availabilty of the Cheif Guest for the Sports Day the mid-term exams are likely to be postponed. Teachers are skeptical whether the mid-term exams may not be held as per the schedule. Why this unwanted mess up ?

NEW FORMAT FOR NIT ADMISSIONS - A CURSE

DECISION ON NIT ADMISSION WILL HIT STATE STUDENTS

The sudden decision of the Ministry of Human Resource Development to fill 50 per cent of the seats, hitherto reserved for students of other States in the National Institutes of Technology, on an all-India merit basis, will eliminate the chances of Tamil Nadu students getting admission to the NITs elsewhere in the country, say school principals.
The Ministry informed the Central Counselling Board (AIEEE–2008) about the change only on June 13. The principals fear the new system raises the possibility of the 50 per cent seats in 20 NITs being filled with students of some States that have been dominating the national ranking in the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) over the years. Furthermore, they reckon, the awareness of the examination is inadequate in Tamil Nadu.
The States that lag in the AIEEE will have to content themselves with the 50 per cent of seats earmarked in the NITs for their own students. The decision has come as a shock at a time when all NITs are increasing the number of seats to implement 27 per cent reservation for the OBC students.
What rankles them is that the Central Government has not honoured its promise to safeguard the interests of States when it converted the Regional Engineering Colleges into the National Institutes of Technology.
In fact, the Centre was allowed to take over the Regional Engineering College here a few years ago only after it promised that the pattern of admission would be retained.
The decision must be based on the fact that the Centre meet the entire funding for the NITs as it does for the Indian Institutes of Technology, sources in the Central Counselling Board (AIEEE–2008) told The Hindu.
“There is no justification for the timing of the decision. Tamil Nadu students who have devoted their time and energy to securing seats in the NITs have been caught unawares. Had they known the decision earlier, they would have intensified their preparations since securing all-India ranks is quite a tough task,” says A. Rajagopal, a full-time trainer of IIT-JEE and AIEEE.

LONG QUEUE FOR PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES

Dear Parents,
This is with respect to school fees payment, which was brought to the notice of the Principal last year 2007 in June PTA meeting. He had promised then to simplify but again this year 2008 also the same old method is followed. It is very difficult to stand in the scorching sun and pay the fees in serpentine queues.
School Fees should be paid for KG 2 to II standard on the 16/17th June 2008, nearly 900 students of A & B Sector classes will have to pay. The Extension Counter Time is open between 10.30 to 1.30 pm - 3 hours ie., 180 minutes x two days= 360 minutes .
Assuming that 1 minute per payment, only 360 payments can be made approximately, but the students strength is 900 approx., balance 540 parents will be in trouble. How is this possible?
Similarly for Standard IV to V students school fees should be paid on the 18/19th June 2008 nearly 600 students fees should pay in 360 minutes
Why not an alternative mode of payments like online ECS, Cheque, DD payment can be implemented. Even a DROP BOX can be kept in the school premises any body can drop the cheques or DD. The Bank may be advised to receive the fees payment by Cheque also .

Hope the Principal think and acts fast. -- RPF

The decision followed a Madras High Court order. All higher secondary schools should follow the Government order, said School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu here on Monday. + 2 Admissions to non RSK Students.

Dear Parents,
My son- a student of RSK obtained more than 380/500 is denied computer science, I understand that nearly 7 non-rsk students has been admitted much to the violation of the Ruling by our High Court, will the PTA, BHEL, CBSE Authorities swing into action to set things right in RSK. The Court's ruling is crystal clear that priority should be given only to its students and no cut off mark should be prescribed. Then why the principal is deviating from the Court order.

High Court directive to CBSE schools

High Court directive to CBSE schools

They should furnish the particulars of students they have admitted to Standard XI They should furnish the particulars of students admitted to Standard XI

CHENNAI:
The Madras High Court on Monday directed all Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in Tamil Nadu to furnish, in two weeks, the particulars of students they admitted to Standard XI.
The directive was given by the First Bench of Chief Justice A.P. Shah and Justice P. Jyothimani on a public interest litigation petition against `weeding out' of Standard X students by their own schools while granting admission to Standard XI.
The petition, filed by educationist S. Anandalakshmy, highlighted the practice of CBSE schools arbitrarily fixing cut-off marks to weed out their Standard X students.
The Bench also directed the CBSE to ensure that all of its schools in Tamil Nadu complied with the court's directive, issued on April 27, that issuing transfer certificates to Standard X students within the same school and readmitting them to Standard XI was against the rules.
Concurring with a set of guidelines furnished in court by Assistant Solicitor-General P. Wilson, the Bench held that students from other school could be considered for admission after accommodating students of the same school.
Schools should conduct no admission test for their own students, and no school should prescribe any cut-off marks for admission to Standard XI or for allotment of subjects.
All CBSE schools in the State should comply with these guidelines. The five Chennai-based schools that had been arraigned as respondents in the petition should file all particulars about Standard XI admissions before June 8.
Dr. Anandalakshmy said the practice was the manifestation of rampant commercialisation of education and an anti-thesis of what the CBSE proclaimed and repeatedly emphasised.
The Board said the CBSE schools would violate rules if they treated their own Standard X students as fresh candidates for admission to Standard XI and issued transfer certificates before "re-admitting" them to Standard XI.

Note - This is the exact legal position as decided by our High Court, Chennai and this is the paper report of- THE HINDU- dated 5th June 2007, Hence parents can take up the issue with the CBSE if you are aggrieved --RPF

+2 ADMISSIONS CHAOTIC IN RSK

RSK Parents are fretting and fuming against the denial of +2 seats for their wards who have been denied seats by our Principal. They say that students from outside school have been admitted much to exception of RSK Students. They also feel that the Principial has violated the last year High Court ruling that first priority should be given to their students than admitting other school students. They also made it clear that the school should take necessary steps to accomodate the students by giving the group of their choice. Then why this uncessary chaos in the admission. It is hurting the sentiments of the RSK Parents and RPF extends its hand to jointly fight against this injustice. -- RPF

The School reopened today, business as usual for the students. Mrs.Mira has tendered her resignation by giving the three months notice to quit. This is a great blow to the Junior School which will lose one good wicket. Earlier you may recall Ms. Felicia, the Maths teacher in the main school quit. What a pity!
