Government issues directive to its schools on admissions to class XI --It comes in the wake of the Madras High Court order CHENNAI: The State Government on Monday directed government and government-aided higher secondary schools not to deny admissions to students who had passed 10th examinations from their schools. The decision followed a Madras High Court order. All higher secondary schools should follow the Government order, said School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu here on Monday. To improve the pass percentage in government schools, chief educational officers and district educational officers had been asked to monitor the performance of the schools in their jurisdiction by making periodic inspections, Mr. Thennarasu told reporters........ --- Courtesy "The Hindu- 12.06.2007- RPF
